Simon Escorcia

Simon Escorcia, hailing from Nauvoo, Illinois, and Burlington, Iowa, is the visionary behind Colorado Race Timing. His journey began at Notre Dame High School before he pursued his passion for running at Luther College, competing in track and cross country for the Norse. Armed with a BA from Luther College, he furthered his education with an MBA from St. Ambrose University in Iowa.

In 2007, Simon had an epiphany: the corporate world wasn’t his calling, prompting him to chart a new course. Fueled by his passion for entrepreneurship and running, he embarked on a journey to merge his two loves. Thus, in January 2008, Colorado Race Timing was born.

Simon seamlessly juggles the demands of race timing alongside rigorous functional weight training and running pursuits. Despite his busy schedule, he continues to participate in road races, achieving a notable personal record of 2:43:39 at the 2014 Indianapolis Monumental Marathon. As of December 2024, he boasts an impressive tally of 17 completed marathons. In 2016, Simon’s passion for fostering youth running led him to establish The Colorado Coyotes, a USATF youth running club catering to aspiring runners aged 6 to 14 in Littleton, Centennial, and the Cherry Creek area.
