Simon Escorcia

Simon Escorcia, hailing from Nauvoo, Illinois, and Burlington, Iowa, is the visionary behind Colorado Race Timing. His journey began at Notre Dame High School before he pursued his passion for running at Luther College, competing in track and cross country for the Norse. Armed with a BA from Luther College, he furthered his education with an MBA from St. Ambrose University in Iowa.

In 2007, Simon had an epiphany: the corporate world wasn’t his calling, prompting him to chart a new course. Fueled by his passion for entrepreneurship and running, he embarked on a journey to merge his two loves. Thus, in January 2008, Colorado Race Timing was born.

Simon expertly balances the demands of race timing with his dedication to functional weight training and running. His commitment to the sport is evident in his participation in road races, with a standout personal best of 2:43:39 at the 2014 Indianapolis Monumental Marathon. As of July 2025, Simon has completed an impressive 18 marathons. In 2016, driven by a passion for cultivating the next generation of runners, he founded The Colorado Coyotes, a USATF youth running club. The club, which serves aspiring athletes aged 6 to 14, operates in the Littleton, Centennial, and Cherry Creek areas, providing young runners with the opportunity to develop their skills and love for the sport.
